Today I have a question, what is this plant? It's a volunteer growing in a flower pot and I have no idea what it is. At first I thought it was corn, but now that it has topped out, I haven't a clue. Do you know?
Edit: I believe we have an answer, it's a Broomcorn plant, and produces milo. Now I know where it came from, my birdfeeders...Thanks Robert and Countrycomfort for the help.
I've also added a couple of flower pictures for your viewing pleasure!

Well, I did it. I bought a new camera yesterday and so far I am really pleased with it. It has all sorts of settings that I'm not familiar with yet, but hopefully I will learn how to use it properly soon. I have to thank Dowser for doing all of her great research on cameras because I pretty much rode her coattails and got the same camera.

Here are some of the plants I get to see everyday. The first one is a Moonlight Broom Bush, I really liked seeing the patterns of nature in this shot.

This one is of a lily plant I bought not knowing for sure what color it was going to be when bloomed, I was pleasantly surprised with these great colors.

It's that time again! Time for me to show you my new plants on the front porch. I don't have anywhere but the front porch to set anything, my landlady won't let me dig in the lawn so I make do.
Just this week I got a chance to buy and pot some flowers for this year, I also got my tomato plants planted and now I can sit back and watch everything grow! I still have more I want to get, some marigolds and maybe some petunias but for now, I'll just watch these grow and see what happens.
I got my Juliet Tomatoes planted with a couple of sprigs of basil in each pot, that worked out really well last year. It keeps out the bugs and I have my salad fixings all in one place! Some peppermint was planted in it's own pot, it's the first time I've ever planted any peppermint but I think it will be nice to have to add to my sun tea. I also planted three pots of New Guinea Inpatients, I just love these little flowers because they will grow very nicely and bloom all summer long. I also bought a nice Asiatic Lily just because I love them! Hopefully it will be blooming soon.
A friend gave me an interesting lily bulbs that I've never tried before, they are called Crinum Lily and should be some really showy flowers! They are just getting started but I'm going to show you one pot so you can see them in the beginning. I also have another new plant growing called a Plumeria, it's a tropical plant my landlady gave me some cuttings from. They are just now starting to send out some growth so we'll see how they do also.
So this is only the beginning of my front porch plants, I do hope you keep an eye out for more articles on their progress.
